Description
This is a rare piece of New York City ephemera history. It is a signed/autographed and dated 1715 document by John Johnston, Mayor of New York City from 1714-1719 with the City Seal. The subject of the document is a request by laborer Michael Pfeffer to be made a freeman and the granting of that request. The document appears to have been mounted and framed years ago. The 7th & 8th photos have a reflection/glare from the photography. Measures about 12 1/8" x 7.5" and the framed measurement is 19.5" x 15".
